The photos of this chess set are deceiving. There are no holders for the pieces inside the board. I had to get a couple of ziplock bags to put them in. Also, I chose the most expensive wood, walnut, but should have chosen the least costly. The top of the board appears to be a laminate, which has crazes (cracks) in various places. I would not have chosen this set if I knew what I know now and I am wary about buying certain things online now because of this experience.

Arrived ahead of time without a hitch. Should not require a signature as neighbor had to sign. Would have up graded if I knew the backgammon was an option. The board folds nicely and is secured by integral magnets. Hand hold is perfect and pieces are nicely detailed. tx.....b

This is a birthday gift for my grand daughter and i couldnt be more pleased. Perfect size board and tall pieces. High quality board and i got the low priced one. Felt lined inside to carry the pieces and even built in handles. Looks like it could take some rough 7 year old handling and still hold up just fine. Lookin forward to many hours of fun teachin time. Look out Kasparov, she is precocious!!
