Love the huge board and pieces. It is a definite conversation piece and people who don't play chess are interested in playing. Definitely a novelty item.

The only thing I found wrong with this was the rank and file annotation was incorrectly done. If you set the board up with a white square in the bottom right these squares are labeled with a letter and the squares moving away from you are labeled with numbers. So if you are playing white then the bottom left square would be A-1. This board had it backwards with the bottom squares labeled with numbers and the vertical with letters. Does not inhibit play or anything it was just one of those annoying details. Otherwise superfun.

My husband saw a giant chest set at a party we went to back in Dec 08. He was so excited about it and said he wanted one. Our 13th wedding anniversary was recntly and this set was one of the gifts I gave my husband, he was really shocked that I remembered he wanted the set. He Loves it.
