My wife and I play games about 2-3 times a week as a break from our studies (both working on advanced degrees). At least once a week we use this board for a couple of hours of fun. The board is well made (it is a large side, so it wouldn't be that convenient for travel) and have a nice look and feel to it. We have a small magnetic travel set so we wanted a nice table top unit. This fits the bill nicely. The checkers are nice and large (white and black), dice cups are nicely made, case has magnetic closures and a nice hinge. The board is a felt base with 24 stitched leather spots on the board that makes it easy to slide the checkers around. The bar is nice and wide to hold the large pieces when they get hit, as the case opens to its full size.

Board is huge, chips are good, dice are "mini." The dice are so small, I'm not even 100% sure I received them - I keep telling my partner I got double 6's and she believes it - so I shouldn't complain.

This is as nice a set as you'll find anywhere. [...] started playing right away with wife and son. New players are able to pick up the basics very fast. Stones are nice and big. Only downside would have to be overall size is a little larger than I was looking for, but that was my fault for ordering the 21 inch I wanted a handle for carrying. 18 inch is probably better suited for around the house.

The set is slightly large for a travel set. The set is ideal for home use. The large size makes it easy to teach my wife and grandchildren to play. A nice set that anyone would enjoy in their home.
