At this low price, it's hard to complain, perhaps; but nicer wood sets can be had for more money --and that's what I ended up doing. I liked the handle, as many wood sets don't have one or else have an uncomfortable thin metal handle --including the nicer set I purchased to replace this set. The fact that the points were relativley low contrast to the playing surface was obvious from the photo, but the fact that they didn't light up well with the edge of the board was not. Moreover, I was a little disappointed by the quality of the wood finish (a little shiny around the edges), and I didn't care for the visible glue in the corners. If I had kept this board, I would have replaced the wooden checkers and mahogany colored wood dice cups, myself. But it's a perfectly serviceable budget wood set as is, and I'd still recommend it at its relatively low price point.

A Little noisy when transporting. Checkers could be a little higher quality. Otherwise it is and excellent purchase.

Very well put together. Quality hardware. Only downside is the pieces make a racket inside the case while your carrying it around, but that isn't a big deal.
