A very impressive looking board that was/is bigger than I was expecting. The picture does show the color correctly however. Believe me the set I got was VERY burgundy in color; not the muddy looking purple/brown color you see in the picture here (maybe it's my monitor, but I don't think so). The board/attache itself is a little heavy (a good thing) and well put together. The board opens up properly and lies FLAT for playing (as it should). The pieces measure 1.25" in diameter and are the perfect size for this set in my opinion, contrary to what others have mentioned. Had the pieces been a little heavier this set would have earned a five-star rating from me. That's a bit of a nit pic, I admit, but there it is. Even with the plastic-y feeling pieces, this is a large, impressive looking set and I certainly would not hesitate to give one as a gift. I'm keeping this one for myself, however.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. I believed the description when said suede. It is more like a velour -- man made and not what I was expecting. The set will work for family game nights with our kids (7 & 10), but I'm disappointed. I also don't like the fact that the pieces do not fit securely in their compartment -- in fact the pieces that form the compartment are not firmly secured to the board. Depending on how it plays, we may be sending it back.

I have been looking for a new backgammon board for a while. I had looked at many boards on many sites and this was the best one by far. The interior is very well made. The exerior is just beautiful. I was not disappointed with the board when it arrived. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
